- Cesar Milan recommended Stephanie to me, when he was working on his TV series and couldn’t do the work himself (Cesar helped me with a previous rescue). From the first phone call, Stephanie pulled me out of a really HUGE NIGHTMARE with a very simple trick using a can and some coins … but first a quick story.
- Found a stray, weaving in and out of rush hour traffic (starved, filthy big German Shepherd puppy), animal lover that I am, I caught him, threw him in the car (with help of nice man who stayed talking on his cell phone throughout the chase – extraordinary!), AND naively thinking I’d just take him to an Animal Shelter (I’m from the UK, things are a bit different there) … I discovered, to my horror, that that was nigh on impossible (unless you don’t care if the dog is euthanized). I say horror, because he was a man biting, cat chasing, house pissing/pooing out of control totally untrained bloody nightmare!!!!
- I have two cats and American Bulldog and was struggling between them all fighting and Chico (that’s what I called him) biting me ALL THE TIME. I had bite marks on my arms, legs, bottom … as I say, it was a nightmare. I’d scream and shout at Chico, ending up so frantic myself, that I’d punch and kick him whenever he bit me – not good. I felt terrible, defeated and sick with worry.
- Stephanie, on our first call, told me to put coins in a can and shake it in his face if he tried to bite me. I’m not kidding, I did it and within a few shakes he had stopped trying to bite me - you can imagine the anti-climax. I felt like the worst sort of ignorant fool (which shows why you need a dog trainer in your life!) The indescribable wave of relief I felt after that first call (she talked to me for ages, so generous) where the first suggestion worked so well and things just went up from there.
- And I’m not kidding either, some bloody coins in a stupid tin can, the difference between nightmare and peace!!!
- I really could go on, but I won’t. Suffice to say, Stephanie has the all important big huge heart of an animal lover, is extremely smart and best of all, is patient with YOU (Haa! But it’s true, you end up being the biggest idiot in the training session, not the dog). She is clear in her instructions, and makes training hugely fun. You will be so happy to have found her! Trust me – no more bites on my bottom, is proof of two sorts of pudding.
